This 2,500-sq.-ft. home comprises 4” concrete floors, an insulated
polyurethane structural-panel shell, and a timber frame of reclaimed Douglas
fir and elm. Within the house, more reclaimed Douglas fir, along with redwood
from the Heinz vinegar factory, was used in the custom doors and built-ins. Energy
efficiency comes from the air-tight shell, recovery ventilation, European windows,
and radiant in-floor heat from a ground-source heat pump.
